We commit to delivering health solutions backed by science, shaped by ethics, and guided by impact
Discoveries led by Prof. Gökhan S. Hotamışlıgil at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health have revealed fundamental mechanisms of obesity- and age-associated chronic diseases. Proof-of-principle preclinical studies with lipid binding proteins indicate that therapeutic targeting of these molecules could enhance health span. In multiple published studies from the Hotamışlıgil Lab and other independent groups have shown highly promising preclinical therapeutic efficacy. Importantly, the relevance of the target pathway is also supported by multiple independent human genetics and biochemical studies.
Enlila, a subsidiary of İş Private Equity, was established to support the Hotamışlıgil Lab with a funding of $39M over 10 years. These studies will focus on fundamental mechanistic insights and advancement of a pipeline of tools for potential therapeutic platforms and clinical applications. The ultimate goal of Enlila is to leverage scientific discoveries from the lab to address unmet medical needs. To facilitate effective translation, a new company is also formed in Boston with an additional investment.
